Saturday, February 28, 2026, 8:00 PM
1.1 Amphitheater, Litexpo (Laisvės ave. 5, Vilnius)
We invite you to the presentation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brigita Bublytė’s monograph “Balso kaukės. Vieta, kur susilieja garsas ir kalba, kūnas ir tradicija, emocijos ir kultūra” (“Voice Masks. A Place Where Sound and Language, Body and Tradition, Emotions and Culture Merge”).
This is a book about the voice – as an instrument of creativity, identity, tradition and communication. The author explores vocal expression in the practice of actors, singers and contemporary performers as well as in ethnic traditions, inviting us to rediscover the power of speaking, singing, screaming, wailing and listening.
During the event, the voice will sound live – the “Voice Masks” ensemble and the LMTA student group specially assembled for this evening will perform.
Participating are Darius Meškauskas, Rūta Pribuišienė, Daiva Račiūnaitė-Vyčinienė.
Moderator is Ramunė Balevičiūtė.
This is not just a book presentation, but also an experience – an opportunity to see how “voice masks” work on stage.
The same evening at 6:00 PM, the presentation of the book “Fire and Faith. Lithuanian History and Mythology on the Opera Stage” will take place in the 1.3 conference hall – we invite you to attend both events and experience different, but complementary cultural perspectives.
