The event aimed to expand interpretations of Čiurlionis’s work, encourage collaboration among emerging artists, and develop research and practice in microtonal music.

In cooperation with Mozarteum University Salzburg and the Society for Ekmelic Music (Austria), LMTA acquired a microtonal organ, which was delivered to the Academy. The instrument will be available for use for seven years, providing students, faculty, and researchers with the opportunity to work practically with microtonal performance technologies. This constitutes an important and sustainable project outcome, strengthening LMTA’s international profile.

Specialized instrument-related and creative consultations were provided—and will continue to be available as needed—by international partners Dr. Agustín Castilla-Ávila (President of the Society for Ekmelic Music) and composer Sander Germanus (Director of the Huygens-Fokker Foundation, the microtonal music centre in Amsterdam). A cycle of lectures, a seminar for young researchers, and creative workshops were organized in order to reflect on the relations between avant-garde inspirations in Lithuanian music and the international avant-garde.
