The Klaipėda State Musical Theatre presented the Professional Theatre Artists’ Awards – the “Golden Stage Crosses” and the Boris Dauguvietis Earring. The ceremony was broadcast live by LRT television.
93 proposals were submitted for the Professional Performing Arts Awards, which were evaluated by the Professional Performing Arts Works Evaluation Commission of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. The awards recognize the most significant works and professional achievements of professional performing arts creators, researchers and other specialists in the field of the previous year.
The year 2024, according to the committee, was distinguished by strong scenography, lighting and video design works, creative experiments and interdisciplinary performing arts projects that actively seek aesthetic and technological innovations.
The Borisas Dauguvietis Earring for innovative musical theatre tools in creating the project “Not What We Agreed” for a mixed deaf and hearing audience was awarded to actor and researcher at the Performing Arts Research Centre (PARC) of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Dominykas Vaitiekūnas.
