We invite you to the presentation of the book \u201cUgnis ir tik\u0117jimas. Lietuvos istorija ir mitologija operos scenoje\u201d (\u201cFire and Faith. Lithuanian History and Mythology on the Opera Stage\u201d) – a detailed and intriguing story about the reflections of Lithuanian history and mythology on the opera stage around the world. <\/p>\n\n

The authors of the monograph \u2013 Helmutas \u0160abasevi\u010dius, R\u016bta Stanevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117, J\u016brat\u0117 Katinait\u0117 and Daiva \u0160abasevi\u010dien\u0117 \u2013 found Lithuanian plots in as many as 67 operas created from the beginning of the 18th century to the present day in Italy, Poland, Russia, Germany, France, the USA, Australia and elsewhere. <\/p>\n\n

The book covers the period from Alessandro Scarlatti’s opera-oratorio \u201cSan Casimiro, r\u00e8 di Polonia\u201d to Constantine Koukias’ opera \u201cOleg\u201d, staged in Tasmania. The publication reveals how Lithuanian history and mythology have been interpreted in different periods and countries. <\/p>\n\n

The same evening at 8:00 PM, another book published by LMTA \u2013 \u201cVoice Masks.
